The FortiSwitch 200 Series provides 1 Gbps access ports in 24, 48-port configurations with 1 Gbps uplinks. Managed directly from a FortiGate over FortiLink — no separate switch controller to buy, licence or run.

Is this the right model?

Where it fits — and where it stops fitting

Compare the whole range

24 and 48 gigabit ports with PoE on every model and redundant power on some — the first tier where a closet failure has a mitigation. Uplinks stay at 1 Gbps, which is the constraint to check: if this switch will aggregate PoE access for WiFi 6E or 7 access points, the uplink becomes the bottleneck long before the access ports do, and the 400 or 600 series is the honest recommendation.

Highlights

  • 1 Gbps access, 1 Gbps uplink
  • FortiLink managed — configured from the FortiGate, no controller
  • Switch ports become policy objects the firewall can act on
  • Compact access-layer deployment

Typical deployments

  • Standard wired access for offices with phones and printers
  • Sites needing PoE across the full port count
  • Replacing unmanaged switches with something the FortiGate can police
