The FortiAuthenticator VM provides single sign-on, RADIUS and LDAP authentication, certificate authority services, guest management and 802.1X for wired and wireless access. It supports 100/10 to +10,000/1,000 local and remote users, 33 to +33,333 NAS devices and 200 to +20,000 FortiTokens.
100/10 users up to 10,000+/1,000, scaling by licence rather than by hardware swap. Suitable where the identity platform should live alongside the rest of a virtualised estate, and where growth is expected to be gradual — the licence steps up without a migration.
